Waiting To Go Home

There's a Starship in the sky
In another place and time
Waiting for the order to go home

In a cabin sits a man
With a green globe in his hand
A reminder of the world he calls his home.

Blue tints the globe
Where the oceans foam and roam
And as he stares a tear begins to form.

For no other world he's seen
Is as peaceful and serene
As the world he longs for and calls home.

In a caldron black as night
The ship in peaceful flight
The order to go home draws near.

In a flash across the board
A trillion miles from home
The order to come home rings out clear

And as the ship turns about
Her engines start to churn.
Preparing for the long journey home.

There's a Starship in the sky
In another place and time
Waiting for the order to go home
